The concept and constructing brought to life old techniques of traditional Portuguese ceramists, dialoguing with modern and contemporary architecture.

Edifício Náutico is a comercial and residential building located in the center of Cascais, a Portuguese village related to the sea. It holds a dominating position in the block, it is the new identity of the area: the ground floor has a waving arcade reminiscent of the sea’s swell, providing different light scenarios.
The façade reminds an important part of Portuguese cultural heritage, it draws ceramic blinds that define privacy and provide light protection. It has 29.104 ceramic pieces, distributed in 856 panel blinds (fixed and pivoting) with 4 mt high each.
The blue color of the building reminding the ocean that surrounds Cascais helps to create diverse light stains throughout the day.
