The TECU® ARCHITECTURE AWARD 2022 once again honours outstanding projects that make exemplary and innovative use of the extensive application possibilities of the TECU® brand. The competition includes the category ‘Realised Buildings’ and a project prize for students. OPEN NOW!
With the TECU® brand of copper products for designing building envelopes, the manufacturer KME provides architecture with high-quality and aesthetically pleasing materials. The building products, which are environmentally friendly by nature, are particularly committed to sustainability. The copper used to manufacture the durable and fully recyclable TECU® products is 100% recycled material.
The award will be presented for the sixth time in 2021. Previous winners include projects as diverse as the Lisbon Harbour Control Tower by Gonçalo Byrne, the Theresienwiese Service Centre in Munich by Volker Staab Architekten and the switch + information pavilion for the Münster Sculpture Projects by modulorbeat.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Architects, planning offices and plan designers anywhere in the world and students of architecture registered at a university or college of technology are entitled to participate in the award contest. Works submitted must have been realised in the period 2016 – 2021.
Registered students of architecture are entitled to submit student projects regardless of whether they have been realised or not, thereby taking part in the student award contest.
The submitted works must comply with the conditions for participation in the competition and must be related to TECU®. No legal right subsists to have returned any items of documentation submitted. Participation in the contest implies full and unreserved acceptance of the conditions for participation in the contest, in particular recognition of KME’s right to publish all materials on giving credit to the author.
PRIZES
The prize money awarded will total EUR 9,500 divided among the following categories:
Realised Buildings
1st prize: EUR 5,000
2nd prize: EUR 2,500
3rd prize: EUR 1,000
Project Award for Students
EUR 1,000
