Framing Collectivity
The issues raised within the New European Bauhaus directly raise the question of the collective, both as a spatial as much as a social notion. Therefore the topic of the event in Zagreb is Framing Collectivity, with all of the various facets and sections through which this topic can be approached. It also focuses on the impact the New European Bauhaus policies will have on architectural education, an overarching theme of the whole initiative, and how various stakeholders can be brought into this discussion within the schools as well. While many implications of answering these issues can be shared regardless of geographical position, when talking about the physical framing of collectivity we certainly can find common denominators among countries in southern Europe, in their traditions, way of life, relationship to open space, but also challenges facing careless urban expansion, heat islands, pollution, contemporary and active approach to heritage etc. When talking about inclusivity and extending the notion of sustainability toward societal and cultural sustainability, we inevitably talk about the communities which make these goals possible. How can we frame them, how can we trigger coming together while promoting a better future? What challenges does the contemporary way of life pose on the notions of collectivity, of public space, of togetherness?Transmissão online em direto ➡️
